From the hottest up-and-coming online superhero entertainment
company in the world, FUTURIUS, comes “THE LONE SPACE RANGER“, a 7-page science-fiction MASTERPIECE, written by J.R. LeMar & beautifully illustrated by Chris J. Powers.

Deep in outer-space, one man bravely fights alone against
a vast alien armada, while struggling to make sense of the
seemingly futile nature of his mission.

Advanced reviews are in (totally unbiased, fair & balanced):

“I WAS ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT AS I TURNED EACH PAGE. THE NON-STOP ACTION HAD ME HOOKED, AND THE SURPRISE ENDING WOULD PUT M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN TO SHAME!”said J.R. LeMar’s mother.

“THIS STORY WAS SO EXCITING THAT I ALMOST WET MY PANTS WHILE READING IT!”said J.R. LeMar’s best friend.

“J.R. LEMAR IS F***ING AWESOME!”said some
smelly homeless man on the street, after J.R. LeMar gave him a dollar.

4 out of 5 Scientologists say that this one short story is better than every single sci-fi novel that L. Ron Hubbard wrote, combined.

Nostradamus predicted that, by the year 2021, J.R. LeMar will be one of the most successful science-fiction and comic-book writers in America.

And it’s all beginning now. So get in on the ground floor, by going to the website indyplanet.us & placing your order for TALES FROM THE PLEX #9, which also contains THE ORBETTE by Chris J. Powers; DIGI-DAN by Daniel Lundie; BLIND DATE
by Cassie Summer; THE NOBLEMAN DETECTIVE by Daniel Lundie; and bonus pin-ups by Chris J. Powers.

All of this goodness can be yours for a mere $2.99 + shipping & handling ($1.73 first class mail) for a print copy, or 0.99 cents for a digital download.

Note: this site is Print On Demand, so there’s no back-stock of inventory. When you place the order, they print it (usually in 2-5 days), and then ship it to you. Which means, I understand if you don’t have the extra cash on hand now (it’s a recession, after all), but whenever you do, it will still be available, at the same low price. Next week, next month, next February, whenever. ^_^

And, while there, feel free to check out some of the other offerings form Futurius. Like #1-8 and #10-15 of TALES FROM THE PLEX
An anthology series showcasing the best and brightest new creators and characters!

Also THE DARKLING, A 6-issue miniseries, written and illustrated by Chris J. Powers.

From the dimly lit streets of night-time London to the treacherous forests of Transylvania, The Darkling is a whirlwind tour of the nightly activities of Vampires in all their forms! Follow the zanymisadventures of The Darkling, a 19 year old blue-skinned Vampiress as she crosses paths with ShadowVamps, mad scientists, Anti-Cthulhu’s, Fashion-Conscious Vampire-Slayin’ Teenage Ninja-Girls, superhero Vampires, Frankenstein monsters, werewolves, albino Ice-Vamps and the dreaded lord of the undead himself, COUNT DRACULA! It’s “Bridget Jones” meets “Interview With The Vampire” in this madcap fantasy comedy drama

I was wondering where you’d disappeared to. I guess you’ve been too busy writing comic books to write blogs. Congrats!

    Thanks, y’all!

@ Eugine: The artist & I didn’t didn’t directly collaborate. I’ve never even spoken to or emailed him. I wrote a 3-page script and sent it to the publisher, Daniel Lundie, who then sent it to Chris J. Powers, for him to draw it. Chris then expanded it a bit, by making the fight scenes in space longer, and that’s how it ended up as 7 pages.

      • May 28, 2017 at 8:15 PM

That was a one-shot deal. The whole series was just done for fun, a bunch of us from a now-deleted message board got together to do this.

I don’t know those details. It was Daniel Lundie who handled all that. Us contributors just turned in our work to him, and he put them together in the various issues and uploaded them to Indy Planet (the first 3 issues are also now available on Comixology).

In my case, he surprised me. I didn’t know who the artist “Chris J. Powers”, who drew my story was. He was never on the message board, and Daniel pretending he was a real person who was just private. He stuck by that for several years before finally admitting that it was actual him who drew it, and Chris was just a pen-name he used.

Wait, you give the story and he just created the comic art, that so amazing! You know how long hunted for someone to do that for me and yet to this day, nothing!

So why didn’t he ever reveled that unit much later?

      • May 28, 2017 at 8:42 PM

Yes, I wrote it originally as a 3-page and sent it to me. He then asked me expand it to 7 pages, which I did. Then he drew it and published it under that pen-name.

Don’t why he kept the secret so long, but I just thought that was funny when he told me.

Dude that some straight up super hero stuff, secret identity and everything. Is he still active?

You ever think about going back to comics?

      • May 28, 2017 at 8:54 PM

Well he dropped the pen-name years ago. And, yes, the prospect of writing comics is something I think about.
