In the aftermath of the building explosion, Danny is found in the rubble badly wounded and taken by ambulance to a hospital, the problem is the take off his make and shirt in the ambulance and when he’s exploded to the sun his skin lights on fire, so he quickly runs inside where he’s shot by a security guard and collapses. Sam and Amy barely manage to escape before they’re taken too, and end up a season biting rats to get enough blood in them to fully recover.
Laskarus appears at the hospital, using his vampire powers to rescue Danny from the morgue that he’d put in (because the hospital thought he was dead) and reunites him with Sam and Amy but he’s not happy at all with the actions of our three teenage heroes.
This was an exciting issue with a dramatic ending. We saw from his appearance last issue that Laskarus is clearly a Very Bad Dude, although his origin and motives remain a mystery. But whatever he’s got planned for Danny, I don’t think it’s going to be good. And it remains to be seen how he’s going to feel about Danny turning his friends. For all it’s flaws, including the mediocre art, I’m loving this book
